SUPER SOUL SUNDAY: “Syd” by LEEPLAY

By Waddie G. September 10, 2023

Every Sunday, I look forward to sharing with you, here on The G-Listed, a digital mixtape of more than an hour of house, soul, R&B, neo-soul, hip-hop, jazz, lo-fi, city pop, gospel, amapiano, or afrobeat music that I have been enjoying. These are the mixes that I enjoy as the soundtracks and background music of my workdays, moods, travels, or socializing with people having similar music tastes.

Today, I am excited to share LEEPLAY’s music curation by the soulful singer-songwriter Syd. We know Syd as the frontwoman of 2010’s R&B band The Internet and her solo work from her albums Fin and Broken Hearts Club. LEEPLAY is a South Korean content creator and one of the few YouTubers I follow for their great taste in music. His version of Syd’s greatest hits and beautiful gems is one of my favorite mixes on their YouTube channel.

Check out this playlist, which I hope you enjoy as much as I have. You will hear solo gems by Syd and collaborations with Kehlani, Steve Lacy, The Internet, KAYTRANADA, Charlotte Day Wilson, and more.
